recently an acquaintance of mine received official punishment for irresponsible blogging. its something thats not taken lightly in this country, given the fact that the internet is a very fragile realm where either growth and love is nurtured, or hate and spite are spawned.

as the saying goes, "君子一言既出,驷马难追". (the words of the gentleman when spoken, is difficult to recall, like a fine steed". its not as if we're totally forbidden to talk about the army. i mean, the army does impart an average (self-motivated) soldier responsibility, many communication, as well as management skills. of course that comes with plenty of manual labor, deadlines and unfortunately for some, extra duties.

but as in the interest for the country and the armed forces, we are bound by the official secrets act to safeguard any classified information that we would definitely come across in the course of work, especially someone from the service vocations like me. since by common sense, we do more paperwork than combatants.

so, while we want to share our experiences as well as our opinions regarding the armed forces, the onus would definitely be on the servicemen to not leak out stuff that we shouldnt tell. just like how anyone with common sense would not blog about his/her daily private self-gratification rituals. and of course, as shown in various previous incidents of disciplinary lapses, the armed forces has a system flow for which servicemen can air their grievances, as well as seek counselling guidances should they have any personal conflicts with the organisation and its members. (this should have been published in either in a newspaper report, or a forum response towards a previous incident of disciplinary lapse involving a high-profile serviceman)

moral of the story: whatever you do or say, be prepared to eat it back.

well i also have to thank meibao for buying me the puma belt sometime ago at rafflescity puma boutique, which i truly adore. lol been long since i got a gift from her ba =x

anw talk about irresponsible blogging, i dont get why people find so much gratification in giving nonproductive comments on tagboards. if typing words into cyberspace lets you feel avenged over some conflict in real life, i wish you all the best!

wow its been like, NOT a while since i last talked about my nuances to the black spaces of the universe.
(btw, does anyone has a good blogskin to use? this one's getting kinda laggy already due to the large amount of .jpgs)

after tonnes of paperworks and lots of dirty hands, i finally got my work straightened out. which kinds of reflects that NS is actually a good place to learn about paperwork procedures, office politics as well as the importance of canteen breaks.

one of the units my section is supporting had their new botak recruits recently. looking back at the days where even the OOC had to deal with the feral rage coming from the WSM and OC, who were (and still are, for the record) close to the point of being demonic, be in their temper, way-of-life and as well as their sheer physical prowess. not to mention eating close to 30 combat ration packets during those 9 'tekong drift' days. looking at my ORD counter, ive certainly come a long way, and its not THAT long left before i can move on.

apart of office politics, a good part of our lives of non-governmental politics would revolve around our social circle, be it far apart, or your close ones. long story, shall not elaborate unless u ask.

social-wise, i got this darn feeling that im sociophobic to some extent =/

anw right now im addicted to patapon. lol. pink psp combined with cute catchy game (though its about fighting) how sissy can that get?! ftr, im heterosexual. zzz

due to the many events that happened in may and june, im short of pools to actually embark on fulfilling dates, since even though we dont have to buy presents, even spiritually-satisfying dates in singapore will set you back some dough. and by doing nothing we all will become senile-citizens when we grow up.

well enough of being a slacker, lets update myself over what have i done lately.

went to vivo yesterday for a long-awaited return visit to marsche. before that i was at the main entrance on ground level where there was this event going on. apparently it was the "under no roof" event whereby lucky spoilt brats get to build flimsy bashas with cardboard, PVC pipes and the likes. then they would sleep in their masterpiece under all the weather (complete with protective plastic film and free mineral water) over the night (or two).

somehow i think this whole event is meaningless. has anyone actually witnessed what totally goes on in a vagrant's life? usually when we see one its only for like, 3 seconds? 10secs if he decides to pester you for some dough. the city is his jungle, and hes the sole survivor out of it. so if you ask me, living in the open with cardboard boxes and plastic films dont really make the cut.

even army boys are better off than vagrants. though you say we're in the jungle with the absence of civilisation, we get decent gear, and dont have to worry about ration, water or welfare. for them, anything's game.

-financial difficulties-

as a NSF, especially a service side soldier who gets to stay out at that, often finds himself in severe financial situations due to many different reasons. given the rising cost of every darn fucking thing like transport, food and whatnots, the service NSF usually struggles to cope. a lance corporal like me gets 440 (this info can be obtained through other online databases) and a good 25% goes towards transport. ow? doing some maths, a soldier who stays in camp gets fed 15 bucks of food a day. thats an avg of 300 bucks per month. so our allowance is actually spent on food and concession passes. not that my job allows me to stay in, i am required to be mobile. thats besides the point anyway. no one wants to stay in at the camp i work in =/

but in any case, as adrian pang puts it at a deal-or-no-deal episode, NSFs are cheap and *hopefully*nice.

-movie-
went to watch the coveted sex and the city movie today. was pretty much of the continuation of the last episode of the last season which ended quite some time ago. to sum it all up becoz its getting quite late already. GO WATCH THE DAMN MOVIE. ITS NICE.
