Theres this new craze going up and around lately, but for some reason among all that hype, i have never heard of what the fuck is that.
and thats what they call "shisha smoking"
What is Shisha smoking? more commonly known as "hookah", it involves smoking through a pipe thats linked to a heating stove, and with tobacco placed on top of it. it supposedly is a "healthier" choice, as the water "cleanses" the tobacco and less nicotine goes into the smoke your breathe in.
if you dont know wtf is that too, you can recall alice in wonderland, where the caterpillar was smoking a hookah.
With the modernization of all sorts of funny things you know, shisha has evolved to include "tobacco free" flavors which uses sugar cane fibre and concentrate. ~~
but just how "pure and innocent" shisha is?
in my opinion, not really what it seems, and theres plenty of stuff on the web that supports this.
"While using tobacco-free herbs with a shisha is safer (not as bad as smoking tobacco), the biggest hazard for hookah users is that it produces greater levels of carbon monoxide. So smoking too much or in an enclosed area can be unhealthy. Since taking anything other than clean air into your lungs cannot possibly be good for the body, I would not advise it. Same for the second-hand smoke. Shisha smoking cannot be harmless; there is a risk and it is is avoidable. Tell your friend to be sensible, it is an unnecessary risk and habit - there are safer pleasures in life."
i dont know why it has become so addictive. in the first place, breathing anything other than air is not good for anyone. the heating (combustion) of any plant material will definitely lead to production of tar (carbon and other organic compounds) and it will of course hurt you.
but, the ones who get hurt the most are not the ones smoking.
